Since 2015, the Chevrolet Trax has been GM’s answer to the bite-sized SUV market. Known as a “CUV” or “Compact Utility Vehicle,” the Trax is aimed at consumers looking for a small vehicle to navigate the urban traffic of Baltimore, but also enjoy taking weekend cycling trips up to Harford County. The Trax offers the footprint of a compact hatchback, but also boasts the heightened wheelbase and design of an SUV. Couple this with available all-wheel drive, and you have a versatile vehicle that can handle almost anything you throw its way.
The base 2021 Chevrolet Trax in front-wheel drive (FWD) trim retails at $22,595. The all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain bumps the price up by $620, but it will definitely come in handy for Maryland winters. All Trax models are powered by the same 1.4L turbocharged four cylinder, good for 138 horsepower. Due to the small engine displacement, the Trax receives stellar fuel economy in FWD trim, notching 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. AWD versions feature a 24/30 mpg split, at the cost of motivating two extra wheels and a heavier drivetrain. The Trax, although by no means as potent as the 2.0L Turbo Camaro, isn’t no slouch either. The turbocharger will be sure to bring a smile to your face the first time you merge up to speed on I-695. Every Trax also offers up to 48 cubic feet of cargo space; enough for almost any adventure!
Standard features for the Trax are generous-with a 7 inch. Chevy “Mylink” touchscreen featuring a rearview camera included in every trim. All Trax models also come equipped with remote start, as well as roof racks for extra luggage! Every Trax also features available Onstar 4G LTE Wi-Fi-ensuring your data plan won’t be exceeding when you stream your playlists. Step up to more advanced trims, and you’ll be greeted with leatherette upholstery, fog lights, keyless entry with push button start, and a sunroof!
Safety features abound in the 2021 Chevy Trax, with 10 airbags standard on every model. Advanced trims also receive Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, and Forward Collision detection.
