When you’re looking to purchase a new 2021 Chevrolet Equinox in Baltimore, Maryland, the decisions can be quite daunting.  With 2 different engine options, 4 distinct trims, and a palette of 10 exterior paints-the choices can be confusing.  This handy guide is here to inform you on what to expect option-wise from each trim, in order to find the Chevy Equinox that’s right for you!

L/LS: Anything But Base

All Chevrolet Equinox’s come standard with a variety of premium features.  Regardless of whether you choose an L or LS model, the only engine option available in these trims is GM’s 1.5L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine good for over 200 lb./ft. or torque!  It even has an auto start/stop feature to help conserve fuel when you’re at a traffic light!  In front-wheel drive Equinox’s, you can expect to enjoy up to 32 mpg highway!  Not bad for a mid-size crossover SUV!  Inside, drivers will enjoy a 7’’ Chevy MyLink Touch Screen infotainment display to project their phone via either Android Auto or Apple Carplay.  There’s even built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi so you don’t have to burn all of your data!  The console display also serves as a monitor for the standard rearview camera.  Even typically higher-end conveniences like push-button start and an electronic parking brake are standard!

The LS trim doesn’t add much in terms of features, but it most certainly expands options available to the consumer.  Technically, LS models only receive a spare tire, compass, and carpeted rear floor mats over the L trim.  L models however, are limited to only being painted Silver Ice Metallic or Summit White, and can only be had with front-wheel drive.  The LS trim can be had with either front-wheel (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and is available in 4 more colors, including eye-catching Cayenne Orange Metallic!

LT: The Well-Rounded Equinox

Step up to the LT trim, and you’ll be greeted with many more decisions to make.  Available in both FWD and AWD, the Equinox can also be had with the optional 2.0L Turbocharged I4, the same one found in the Camaro!  Interested in towing your fishing boat down to the Chesapeake Bay?  The 2.0L’s 260 lb./ft. of torque makes the Equinox capable of towing up to 3,500lbs.!  It also makes merging onto I-695 a breeze.  To set the LT apart, the exterior mirror caps now match the body color, and black roof racks adorn the top of the vehicle.  2.0T equipped models also get upgraded 18’’ aluminum wheels and chrome exhaust tips!  Inside, the driver’s seat is motorized and now features lumbar support.

Premier: THE Equinox

If you want the most premium Equinox experience Chevrolet has to offer, accept nothing less than the Premier.  Available with all engine and drivetrain options, this model is able to be configured for anyone’s needs.  The exterior has been tastefully massaged with new chrome bits adorning the door handles and exhaust tips.  The Equinox Premier also sits on statement-making 19’’ ultra-bright aluminum wheels.  Inside, leather upholstery abounds, with both front seats heated and the driver’s seat even featuring memory settings.  An 8’’ touch-screen display replaces the 7’’ found in lesser trims, and the rear seat even has a 120V power outlet for your passengers to plug in their electronic devices.  Finally, drive with the peace of mind afforded by GM’s rear cross traffic alert and blind zone alert safety systems.

Regardless of which 2021 Chevy Equinox you choose at our Baltimore, Maryland Chevrolet dealership, you’ll be rewarded with plenty of standard features, excellent fuel economy, and versatile utility.  We invite you to come down and test drive one for yourself!
