The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer marks General Motor’s first reintroduction of the Trailblazer nameplate since the original model’s discontinuation in 2008. Starting at exactly $19,000 MSRP, the 2021 Trailblazer is Chevrolet’s new entry level model, the final step in the brand’s decision to leave cars behind in favor for crossover SUVs. It is available in both Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations, as well as with two engine options – a 1.2 liter and 1.3 liter turbocharged three-cylinder. The 2021 Trailblazer inherits design cues from the Blazer and Camaro, with angular bodywork and narrow, angry looking headlights. Inside, it offers best-in-class rear seat legroom, 39.4’’ in total, almost 4’’ more than the Trax! Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard across the entire model lineup, including 10 airbags, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa can be found on the infotainment display of any 2021 Trailblazer, as well as an optional 4G LTE Wifi Hotspot.
The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is available in 5 trims as follows: L, LS, LT, ACTIV and RS. Each offer their own options and configurations to choose from:
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer L
The 2021 Trailblazer L is equipped with all of the standard features mentioned above. It sits on 16’’ steel wheels, and is only available with the base 1.2L ECOTEC 3 cylinder turbo engine and front wheel drive. Daytime LED running lights are also standard.
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS
Step up to the Trailblazer LS and the most noticeable enhancement is the addition of 17’’ aluminum wheels. All-Wheel Drive is available, although the LS is still only limited to the 1.2L engine displacement. The audio system nets an additional 2 speakers to make for 6, and the front passenger seat has a flat-folding back for improved storage capacity
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT
The 2021 Trailblazer LT is available with both the 1.2L and 1.3L engines as well as All-Wheel Drive. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) found in FWD equipped Trailblazers is swapped out for a 9-speed automatic in All-Wheel Drive equipped Trailblazers. LED fog lamps, silver painted roof rails, remote vehicle start and body colored heated mirrors complete the package. Leatherette seat trim is an available option.
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer ACTIV
The 2021 Trailblazer ACTIV comes standard with the 1.3L ECOTEC engine, and is available in both FWD and AWD. Two-tone color options are available, with the roof contrasting the body in either Summit White or Zeus Bronze Metallic. There are exclusive trapezoidal dual outlet exhaust tips, LED tail lamps and sport terrain tires to complete the package.
2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS
The sportiest iteration of the 2021 Trailblazer, the 2021 Trailblazer RS is easily discerned by its 18’’ black painted aluminum wheels. Rounded exhaust tips, LED tail lamps and a sporty leatherette interior are also included in the Trailblazer RS trim.
The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is capable of achieving a combined 28 EPA MPG fully loaded with the 1.3L engine and AWD. FWD Trailblazers equipped with the 1.2L ECOTEC only manage to improve combined MPG to 29.
